Charity Dance Night
It’s Strictly Come Dancing meets Ashes to Ashes when a 60s 70s 80s Dance and Charity Fun Night hits The Pemberton Centre, Rushden on Saturday 25th September from 8pm. The event is set to be a spectacular feast of fun, music and dancing that offers enjoyment for multiple generations.
Organised by Craig Childs from Loving2Dance, the 60s 70s 80s party is intended for anybody who likes a good evening out, with good company.
There will be a Modern Jive Fun Class, beginners level, from 8.30-9.10 for those that want to learn or practice a few slinky moves. Non dancers and novices welcome; Modern Jive is fun to learn and not too technical! Guests that are not into partner dancing are encouraged to dance around their handbags, reminisce and sing along to their favourite tunes, chosen from many genres.
Fancy dress is positively encouraged, with prizes for each era. The raffle offers amazing prizes including; home improvement products, exclusive perfume, jewellery, flowers, petrol and beer!
To transport you Back to The Future, the room will have themed decor and audiovisuals. A highlight will be a retro games area. Costumes, smiles and laughter will be captured by an event photographer.
The Charities supported are:
1. Asbestos Support Team. This supports victims and families of victims of asbestos related diseases, both fatal and non fatal.
2. Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Provides invaluable medical research and support programmes for sufferers of this chronic, degenerative lung disease.
Tickets are available from: Pemberton Centre, Waitrose, Rushden Conservative Club, Jan’s Florists, Watertight Plumbing Merchants, H & B Howes Petrol Station and Saa Jewellery.
“I am so very grateful to the local businesses helping me promote this and sell tickets”, quotes Craig. “They have shown their generosity with time and also provided great raffle prizes.
After losing my Father to Mesothelioma, caused by asbestos, I want to do all that I can to help fund the team that supports victims and families, as this ordeal is prevalent to many families and will continue to increase. If a hall full of people going retro and having a wonderful time doing so, raises a four figure sum for two worthy causes, then so be it!!!”
